My Dear Mr Marsh.

Yours of the 20th is at hand, with its enclosure, for which Lucy begs me to thank you. She has rather got over her craze for stamps, & indeed now denies ever having had any for this branch of collection, being more interested in ancient Rome than in modern stamps. Such things, however, answer a good purpose in propitiating friends who have favors to confer.

I have sent you my new Report on the fisheries which I think you will find of interest, especially in its reference to yourself in connection with the early history of the artificial stockin[g] of the waters.
