My dear Sir,
I have this moment received your kind note of the 27th and thank you most heartily for your having sent me the £12 without which I should be fairly treed. You say Mrs. Grazzini sent me a money letter. I have received two letters from father through her, but, alas, no -------------------------------- Page --------------------------------money letter from from anyone except yourself. I hope nothing is lost. My address is "Via della Croce, No 24." I look forward with great pleasure to a note from my little favorite Luly, as my punctuality in replying, when it comes, will show. I send a receipt which I feel you will not expect, but life is so uncertain. My best love to Mrs Powers and the children.
Most truly yrs.
George O note:Rome Nov. 30 1853For value received I promise to pay Hiram Powers the sum of £12 (twelve pounds.) Payable on demand.
