Dear Sir
I regret I did not see you this morning, particularly as I learn from Mrs Marsh that she did not ascertain whether you received my note of Tuesday last --
I mentioned in that note that I had written to the proprietor of the Tremont House to secure rooms for ourselves, and -------------------------------- Page -------------------------------- had said to them, that you & Mrs B. would probably be of our party, but as I did not know but your proposed visit to Springfield might delay you a day or two, I did not engage lodging for you. If you did not receive my note, & write to the proprietor of the T. H. to secure lodgings, I would advise you to do so by the Saturday's mail, as the crowd at this season may otherwise render it difficult for you to obtain rooms. With sincere respects to Mrs. B & yourself.
