Hon George P. Marsh, Rome,

My dear sir, On Reflection, I fear that my letter of the 11th instant may not be satisfactory to you and I therefore desire to say that if you do not feel disposed to sign the address to the Governor as one of the committee, I beg you will please modify the same, make a new address or propose some other form for accomplishing the object in view, and I shall be most happy in concurring with you. Very truly & respectfully Yours.

P.S. please let me hear from you as soon as convenient Yr. JNP.
