Dear Mr Marsh.
Yours of February 26, is to hand. I will do what I can to secure a satisfactory notice of the Professor's works in Mineralogy.
The pamphlet mentioned in your letter has also been received & turned over to Lucy as an exercise in Italian. She has been studying that language quite diligently for a year or two past.
I send you a series of the Circulars relating to the Smithsonian display at the Centennial.
Sincerely Yours,
S F BairdHon. George P. Marsh. U.S. Minister. Rome, Italy. The Am. consul at Venice has sent me some Venetia beads--not yet here
