Description

Undated but probably 1929 or early 1930s showing the old trolley (streetcar) tracks still in place running down the center of North Street. View is looking west on North Street at the intersection of Elmwood Ave. before new construction by the Burlington Street Dept. In the middle distance is probably a Burlington Rapid Transit bus heading west. In the foreground on the left is a corner store, further west is Bloomberg's Shoe Store and further on is the tower of the old Lawrence Barnes School at 144 North St. On the right a sign for Mazel's Department Store at 194 North St.
