Considering the view toward the dining area (aft) and the general state of disrepair of the area between the recess and what was the entrance to the dining room, this could be the Chateaugay prior to the aft superstructure removal (to convert it into a car ferry deck). However, when one considers the relative distance from the newell post of the main staircase to what was the bulkhead separating the dining area, (a fair amount greater than that of the Ticonderoga's) this might be the Vermont III prior to demolition.
