I submit that this is the Vermont III, having been stripped of all her superstructure in preparation for being converted into a barge which was done on the ways at Shelburne Shipyard. Looking at the outlines on the deck, one can see the stairway leading from the freight deck to the forecastle, followed by the outline of the central core of the superstructure. Behind that is the small square box that would have contained the steering gear and cables from the pilothouse. In the center toward the upper top of the photo is the opening through which the main walking beam frame sat, rising from the bottom of the ship to the very top of the vessel. The stern of another steamboat (most likely the Ti) is in the background to the left. Also, potentially, on the right side of the photo, and laid to the side of the Vermont III, is the pilothouse and aft cabin which likely had been removed with a crane. Where that eventually went, no one seems to know.
