The Betterley Homestead is located in Newfane.

This photo is mislabled. The correct name should be Betteridge Homestead, Looking East. The original farm is located on Ames Hill at the junction of Barrows Road and Cow Path 40. There should be no reference to Newfane or Dummerston.

This is interesting. Did the photographer mislabel? Or are people wrong? I'd love to help develop a historic photo-to-present day scavenger hunt. Print them, find the places, do a new digital photo from the same angle & print side-by-side to complete the challenge. What was the process for getting labels onto these old photos for Thayer's postcard business?
