Vermont Folklife Center Archives
Collection Overview
The Vermont Folklife Center Archive preserves the products of the Vermont Folklife Center’s ethnographic research work, as well as materials donated by others conducting ethnographic and oral history research in Vermont and the surrounding region.
The archive holds materials related to: traditional music and art; Native American, Yankee and Franco-American experience and culture; farm and rural life; regional occupations; recreation and tourism; environmental conservation; counter-culture; refugees and recent immigrants; Daisy Turner; and veterans experiences among many other topics. These materials are preserved on an array of media formats including more than 5,000 audio recordings, over 400 video recordings, 25,000 photographic images, manuscripts, and other documentation organized into over 100 distinct collections. Our holdings are constantly growing.
