July 27, 1934. Photo # 4A. A view looking north from south end of the north-south runway showing the grading work in process which was done under the V.E.R.A. (Vermont Emergency Relief Administration). Note the opening at northern end where the trees and undergrowth have been removed to obtain better vision. Caption on this 1934 photo of construction of the Burlington Municipal Airport reads "#4A 7-27-34 Grading North and South Runway with VERA labor looking North from South end of runway."
