The collection contains correspondence, photographs, bound volumes and various printed materials. The papers consist primarily of Wells family correspondence between Arthur and his brothers: George Frederick Wells, and Methodist pastor (whose diaries and other material were given to Cornell University), Leon Wells, retired town clerk of Bakersfield, Oscar Wells, a retired Methodist minister, and Dr. Wesley R. Wells, a retired psychology professor at Syracuse University. There is also correspondence between Arthur and his son, Lynford L.
