Sept 20th 7 oclock AM [1861]Dear Sister -
I have only time to write a line. George came here yesterday and
stoped in camp with me last night but is going to leave in a few
moments. They tell us we shall certainly leave to day but I dont believe a word
of it tho’ it may be so. As soon as we start I shall certainly drop you a line.
I have sent all my things by George except my overcoat which I shall keep to
sleep in until I get another, and then I shall send that & my breaches to U.
Falls. George has got the picture I spoke of, and says he shall send
it to G. as soon as possible so you can have some coppied if you
wish. Shall you come tomorrow and run the risk of finding us here? I rather hope
you will you dont know how much I wish to see you all. Good Bye. My love to all.
George will take this down to town and put it in the Office for me.
Your BrotherJoe
P.S. I recd your letters last night.
