Description: August 3, 1944. This view shows a panoramic of the entire development of the Municipal Refuse Disposal Grounds. Note the long easy grade of the road leading down from North Bend Street, also the salvage depot and other buildings and the smoke rising from the end of the Cat's Island area where all unsalvageable materials are burned. Note the Central Vermont Railroad tracks paralleling the road.
