Marshall E. Calkins to Lilian H. Olzendam
Westmore Oct. 25 1919
I think I have replied you
in this once before.
I am not in favor of another
session of legislation with out a fair
recompense to us. I also feel that when
the women pay a full tax and take the
freeman oath then they should have equal
rights with man.
M. E. Calkins
The undersigned member of the Vermont Legislature petitions
Governor Clement to call a special session of the Legislature
before January first, 1920, to ratify the Federal Suffrage Amend¬
ment, and I pledge myself to vote to go to the special session
without expense to the State.
