The reason I did not anser your letter was becaus I intened to go up with Mr Newcomb to day but the did not come I was disappointed a little The Dollies I think are [   ] lovely am much oblidged I dont believed you though it was my birthday but it was these were all the presents I had The [Nite] Society are haveing a supper to night in the Hall we[  ] are all at home

I heard last night that Dell is quite sick; see Ella and find out if she is dangerous, and let us know, for if she is I will come up. I never see such work as Carrie has about getting up to Johnson, has to rain or somthing all the time I guess you will want some clean clothes before long, but it is almost tuesday and "cool weather"
