I have time to just write you a word before the mail goes. You see I have changed my residence again since I wrote you last. Col Jewett is now in Command of the Brigade, and I am in command of the 10th Vt for the present. It is raining hard now and we hope it may continue so as to raise the river, then it will not be such hard work to guard the river here, for the enemy cannot then ford the. I will write you again tomorrow if I have time. Have not heard from you since I wrote you last. Expect to get a mail this evening. All well.
