At length the mail has arrive and I have received three letters from you 1st 7th
and 8th Corps Head Qrs have not got along yet, so my papers remain the same, but
Gel. Seymour says they are expected by every steamer now. We are guarding a Fort
now and having very good times. The papers will tell you all the Army news. I
have nothing new to write, for I expect to be with you soon and can tell you
more than I would
or could write. I wish
I could have been with you while you were feeling so bad. I also recd. a letter
from Delia I do hope Corps Head Qrs will get along soon, for I am getting tired
of waiting. We will talk Hotel matters over when I get home.
