I am directed by Sergt. Gen. Washburn to inform you in reply to yours of the 6th inst that nothing is known at this office respecting your Son Bradford M Sparrow except that he was taken prisoner June 30 1864.

Your letter has been referred to Col. F.F. Holbrook, Vt Military Commissioner with request that if he can learn anything respecting your Son, he will inform you
